Custom Acoustic Guitar Pickguards – Built to Belong

Most players aren’t looking for a flashy guitar pickguard—they’re looking for something that feels right the moment it’s installed. That’s the mindset behind every one of our custom acoustic guitar pickguards at Holter Pickguards.

We work with carefully chosen pickguard material, including premium celluloid and high-quality PVC, selected for their stability, depth, and traditional feel. From classic tortoise shell pickguard patterns to black pickguard material, vintage Fire Stripe, and lighter heritage tones, each guard begins as a traditional pickguard blank and is refined by hand.

Every pickguard is shaped, beveled, and finished individually. We offer gloss, satin, matte, and light relic finishes—giving you the option of a clean, period-correct look or one that reflects the warmth and character of a vintage guitar. Thicknesses and edge profiles are kept true to vintage standards, allowing the guard to sit naturally on the top.

Our current material selection includes Deep Maroon, Subtle Red, Tiger Stripe, Fire Stripe, Amber Speck, Black, White, and Cream. Many of these draw inspiration from traditional tortoise pickguard and tortoiseshell pickguard material found on vintage instruments. Each sheet is unique, meaning no two pickguards will ever be exactly the same.

Holter Pickguards are designed to fit a wide range of acoustic guitar models, with printable PDF templates provided to ensure proper fit before ordering. We also regularly work on vintage restorations and custom builds, creating custom-made pickguards that respect the guitar’s original character.

When it’s done right, a pickguard shouldn’t call attention to itself. It should simply look like it belongs.
